I have new Broginis and they are not really worn in yet - am hunting in them tomorrow and forgot to buy some of the specialist tacky stuff you can buy. Have heard that putting saddle soap on the inside will assist with grip - am just worried that if they get wet they will get even more slippy

ETS - I don't mean INSIDE the boots, I mean on the inside side of the boot, the bit that lies on the horse LOL!

LOL. I did have to read to the end of your post before I got exactly what you meant.

I don't know the answer to your question personally, but wanted to wish you luck for the meet. Hope you have a good day.

i know what u mean
i must admit i took the sandpaper to mine:o then ut some prittstick on them hehe....but more recently i just dabbed leather balm on which seemed to work best!

(dont worry i havent ruined them with sandpaper!!)

SANDPAPER?! No way am I going down that route, not even sure they are the boots for me so may have to sell on - think the leather balm is a better idea - are you sure they are not slippy tho?

well only very lightly..they are regalis so v much like yous!! they dont even look any different i promise!! hehe

well it wasnt for me i dabbed it on thick----so it wasnt slippery..left it overnight just n case and it left it "tacky" so seemed to work!! i have such a bloomin ordeal with boots they are never comfy/fit right/slip etc etc

That's a point Weezy.

I have some proper leather balm and it's horridly sticky and takes ages to buff up into a shine.

I think that might just do the trick. Stick it on liberally. Dries very tacky.

My leather balm dries really fast. I always kick myself because I smear it on my saddle and then make a coffee. Sit and read paper, watch a bit of TV and before you know it, it's caked hard on the saddle and I'm then spending the next hour or more buffing it up!

I think you'll be fine.
