I'm looking for a slow-feed hay box to use in a field (bonus points if you can use in the stable but the field is my priority) with soaked hay.

I've looked at Hay Hutch & the Parralex Hay Saver so far.

Is one better than the other? It needs to be reasonably small holed as my native is a very good doer and durable as pony is, well, a native pony and would A. Trash it and B. Take off lids, etc, on anything that wasnt robust.

Any other suggestions would be gratefully welcomed :)

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

I use hay pillows for soaked hay in the field! Cheap and cheerful and have stood out well!

Thank you - I've used hay pillows in the past and they've been great but can't use them in the field now.
Nothing slows my beast of a highland down! Good luck.
Have you tried Tricklenets or Martnets? These are brilliant and only posted this thread as looking for a solid, ground feeder :)
Wonder if you could build something out of pallets? One for the base, four for the sides, and hinge one for the lid. Keep the slats vertical to prevent it being pulled over by an enthusiastic foot.

I have asked my OH the same question 🤣 So we'll see if my request for him to build one is granted!

I would not trust anything built out of pallets for a hungry native 😆 it would be matchsticks in no time.

We have a few round metal sheep feeder rings, you could tie a net inside one of those
