In the spirit of constructive criticism, I thought I'd share my lovely new toy that I got for Xmas - namely a camera that can record slow motion video capture. And BOY does it show up naff riding! Here is a video as an example of me riding on the flat and a friend jumping - I thought I'd share it as it is the most helpful bit of kit when it comes to pinpointing what I'm doing wrong. Need to fiddle with the settings a bit for filming indoors but you get the idea.

Once our arena is thawed out, I intend to try it out on OH and his annoyingly good seat and use it as evidence that he stares down at his hands as much I do!!!

Yes, it's a Casio Exilim - I broke my last one and put in a request for a new one and it came with all this amazing add-on! It is a hideous colour but I'll cope

Ooooh, very interesting. I must try that one day (although I would be horrified by the results, no doubt) - the video camera on my phone has a slow motion feature.

Oh wow - that's amazing! I need a new video camera, must go and investigate that!

I've tried to edit footage taken on a normal camera to slow it down, but it's nothing like that. Would be great just to film your horse moving loose and really watch it's action too.

I know, it's a bit cringeworthy when you get to see just how noisy your hands and legs are but certainly gives you something to aim for. When the weather picks up, I'll ask my Dutch pro dressage friend to come and ride so I can film it as it ought to be done!!

What an amazing bit of kit although I'm not sure I'm brave enough to have my riding scrutinised in that much detail

I'm very interested in seeing any more videos you take using it.

My faults are all too obvious to the naked eye, never mind this technology!
