Slowing hay consumption - view on these?

I like the fact that they can hold more hay than an average net. Wondering if I should buy one to use inside my Haybar. I want my horse to have ambple access to hay whilst she's in during the winter but to ration her intake to a reasonable level, ie: not to be able to scoff a whole bale overnight (which she does if she can!)

They look brill I've been trying to work out a way to fit a net into my homemade hay bar I might try and make one of these!
 
in the video what is to stop the horse putting it's foot over the top of the haynet? ie between the haynet and the wooden wall. If it does that what happens then?

The net would break free from the wall. The makers say that the 1.5" square holes make the netting too small for a grown horse to get its food stuck through and so it would remain safe if on the floor and stood on. I also assume if you were going to use one of these, that you'd hang it high enough to discourage ordinary leg waving from catching the top of the hung net and that if you had youngstock or another horse likely to rear or play with the net, that you'd not choose to use one. Just like you mightn't choose to use a normal haynet net for that sort of horse.
 
My very large ID X would tear that off the wall in no time or get his head inside it to gobble more hay.......but he is a thug!
 
Sorry but I don't like them. Firstly I hate the idea of leaving baling twine on a hay net, secondly those holes look very small, so many horses would really struggle and get frustrated and finally as Ruby 1512 says Fany would tear it off the wall and they are expensive. However, I hope for OP that I am wrong and they work well, please let us know.

We've recently had success (discovered by accident) putting a small full haylage net inside a very large haylage net.

It really slows him down as he can't get a good grip on big chunks of haylage at a time as the big outer one isn't tight around the whole diameter of the inner net. But he doens't seem to get too frustrated, just nibbles away for ages :)
 
I would think 1 1/2 inch (40mm) holes would be very frustrating for a heavy horse. I've ordered a haynet with 2 3/8 inch (60mm) holes. I've been waiting for it for over 2 months. When it comes, I'll let you know if it successfully slows down my horses' hay consumption or succeeds in driving them to rip the net.
