small bale straw and big bale sizing?

Moving horse onto straw today and yard use large straw bales and i have always used the small ones so just wondered how many 'big bale slices' equal to one small bale? so i can work out how much im going to be using

Do you mean large round bales or Hestons (large square)?..

I always thought there was approx 10-12 square bales to a round bale..

Big square ones. Not sure on how many slices im going to need tonight x

Are they three foot hestons or four foot?, I think a four foot section is a little over a small bale as they are so tightly packed!

Not possible to really say! I use big bales and the size of the slabs varies in each bale!
When topping up beds I usually use four slabs in each stable. To bed right from scratch I would probably use at least six.
My stables are 12 x 15.
