My TB is currently on bedmax. But have moved from a yard with a massive 15 x 15 stable to new yard with average sized stables. TB is much much messier in this and is just moving it around too much.
I despise straw so dont want him on that.
His neighbour is on very small flake shavings and seems to be quite tidy. Do the smaller flakes tend to be more absorbant? My lad seems particularly wet at the moment and the bedmax doesnt appear to be as absorbant as I thought.

In the past have used cardboard, easibed etc and didnt like any of those either! I must be extremley fussy! :D

I have just started using wood pellets in my mares stable. She is really really dirty. I didn't think I would like them but I am converted and it is working out cheaper than when she was on straw! Quicker and easier to muck out too:)

I always find small flake cleaner, yes it's more absorbent as it has more surface area (knew that potato osmosis coursework I did 6 years ago would one day come in handy!:p) Also I find the big shavings don't fall through the fork as well, so you end up taking out more than you need too.

You wouldn't think I had a biology A level would you charem!:o:rolleyes:
Yeh I have that problem with big flakes - so wasteful! They look pretty though :o:D
