small hard pimple on horses head?!

i've just noticed my horse has a very small (about 3mm wide) hard pimple on his head, just below his ear. It seems to have a head to it too. I wonder what this could be, as if it is anything serious, it's always better to catch it early on. All thoughts would be much appreciated

I'd just keep an eye on it for a couple of weeks. It might be a scratch or a fly bite in which case it will clear up on it's own. If it gets bigger or starts to weep or ooze crusty goo or your horse is an elderly grey, give your vets a ring and see if they think they should come out x
