Hi guys,
I've just seen the thread about Trickle Nets - they sound perfect for my boy as he manages to eat a hole net of haylage (double netted too, but these are normal nets) in about an hour!
I've been Googling and apart from the Trickle Net, which I can't really justify spending £30.00 on, has anyone come across something similar or a normal net with very small holes? Shires seems to be the smallest one I can find at 30mm (1.25") holes. Anyone got any other suggestions?
Many thanks :-)

I would not buy the elim a net. I bought two at the end of October and both lasted about a fortnight before starting to fall to bits. Now they are almost unusable. Double netting works just as well in any case.

Thanks guys - think I'll get two of the Shires extra small holed ones then and double them up...but then thinking about it, with postage I might as well go for the Trickle Net I guess! Either way, bloody expensive, I'm just feeling guilty that I know in about an hour or so (as I've just put them both away for the night) that my big boy would have gauged his way through his mountain of haylage!

tricklenets are great! I used to double net shires ones and she just broke them. Had my tricknet about 6 weeks and it is a lot more effective, she always has hay left and no signs of wear....

Worth forking out for!

Try your local tack shop as mine sells all sorts also i use 2 smaller nets tyed at each end of the fat piggys stable so he has to eat one then move on to the next :D

I have bought small holed hay nets from a company in bridport called coastal nets. They have some really tough small holed netting that i have not seen anywhere else. Worked a treat!

I have 2 shires haylege nets you can have if you're happy to cover the post!
I used them for my daughters sec D that inhaled hay, could eat twice as much as my 16.2 in 1/4 of the time lol!
Due to lack of interest we sold her in the summer and are just hanging in my feed room.
I will never use them so it would be nice if they could go to a new home as they are just collecting cobwebs!
Pm me if interested X

To the two people that pm d me yesterday about the shires nets, I am unable to message you back for some reason?
You would have been welcome to have the nets for postage costs however........... I bought them in this morning and put them on the kitchen table along with the other junk that resides there, post, newspaper, magazines etc and have just returned indoors after the saddler coming this morning to reflock some saddles for me to find that my 2 darling lurcher pups can now reach things on the table and have ripped to shreds everything that was there, including the haynets, so I apologise they are no more and destined for the bin. I don't know how to post a pic but I'm having a cup of tea before I even attempt the clean up, pups looked very pleased with themselves though;)
