Can anyone suggest a stud that is known to breed and produce quality small horses (15-15.2hh) ideally with some pony breeding in the vaguely southern part of the country please?
I am really struggling to find what I want, that will pass a 5 stage vetting, and being sold by someone who won't waste my time and will be true to their word.
The novelty of horse hunting has really worn off and I'm just finding it an emotional roller coaster and very disheartening.
The history of the horse and how it has been trained is important to me hence wondering about the stud route as I know a few keep horses to sell under saddle at 4/5.
Any suggestions appreciated, thank you.

Pony pro is Sarah Steggall in Somerset. She won't have anything herself to sell but she knows about ponies/small horses. Find her on Facebook as Bernwode Stud.

Trevoulter Stud in North Cornwall, http://www.tbstud.com/. Gorsfraith Brenin throws really smart sporty types, the 2 in my sig are full brother and sister by him (Trevoulter Silver Arrow & T. Silver Replica). Trevoulter Ladies man has just won the Pony of the Year JA title.

The impossible! 15-15.2hh 5-7yrs, pony breeding (eg connie/nf/Welsh) x eg tb or warmblood but most important is temperament, needs to fit in at home on farm, young child/dogs/tractors, be able to stand in on own, come away from other 2 horses, hack alone mostly, straightforward and trainable to do low level BE but longer term with a BD focus. However not an out and out competition horse as I will only compete maybe monthly, sometimes less or more but want to progress and do well with the correct work once out. School in open fields, be ok if not ridden for a few days/wk, travel alone, must pass 5 stage vetting.
They do exist and I've missed out on 2 by owners not being upfront about position with other viewers, one failed vetting, one wouldn't pass a vetting, several 'heavily' produced or passed through homes/dealers or are a 10 hour round trip away! Having done my last two from unbacked 3 year olds, it matters how they've been started but I haven't got the ground support now to help if it's anything other than straightforward hence wanting something that's done a little-enough to prove its temperament mostly, the rest I'm happy to do.
No greys or full warmbloods/tbs.

Sounds wonderful - I think I want one like that too! I dont know of one that ticks all of those boxes but I will keep a lookout as I do keep rather an obsessive eye on horses for sale x
