I was brushing my boys tail tonight and all of a sudden he went really itchy and started rubbing his bum on the stable. I had a look and he has lots of little lumps all around his anus and a bit further down on the skin bit. I also noticed a few lumps on the right hand side of his neck and shoulder on Saturday but didn't think much of it and they've gone now. I washed his tail in tea tree shampoo, dried his bum off and popped some vasilne on. He was fine when I left the stables. I started feeding alfalfa at the beginning of May so I would have thought he would of had a reaction to that weeks ago if he was going to? It looks like nettle stings but can't be. What else could it be?

It does sound like the reaction to alfalfa. They’re known as protein bumps. But then it could also be a reaction to something in he was in contact with in the field?
