Hi, I'm slightly new to this and confused so any help with this anyone can offer is greatly appreciated!

I'm interested in buying a show jacket for low level dressage and show jumping competitions that is black with red piping, but how correct is it to wear this? Answers on the internet are either not always clear or can be contradictory so I was just looking for any advice.
I've read online that piping is allowed with complimentary colours, so would this mean I would have to wear a red tie despite wearing a black jacket, or would a white tie/stock still be okay (and which of these two would be better to wear)?

If this jacket with red piping is something I should not wear, what else would be recommended?

Thanks for any help!

Its fine for show jumping -more or less anything goes. Just not a red collar and union jack patch - thats only for those who have competed for the UK. It isn't traditional for dressage, but at low level it shouldn't be an issue at all. You don't need to match the piping colour - whatever tie / stock you usually use would be fine.

Turning up smart, clean & having made the effort with you & your horse is half the battle! Your jacket sounds perfect - nice white stock and it will look great! Nice white numnah with red piping would be the ultimate matchy matchy but definitely not required :p:D;)

Enjoy your dressage outings!
