Went to see people I posted about in my post below. Seemed pretty nice to me, ponies and horses there in good condition.
I really should listen to rumours sometimes

Was initally going to go and have a chat, which I did; whilst riding one of their horses! 20yo mare. It felt like sitting on a five year old! No joke. Very forward going and responsive, and the person said she hasn't been able to find a rider who could ride her properly, and that she hopes I'll be able to take her on!!

She also said they'll need help with some of their youngsters and there will be other horses that will need exercising and she said she'd be happy to let me ride them.

I have mentioned to my parents about getting a loan, and they said I could look around and see what's about in our area.
Did plan on going to see somebody today, and have to tell them I found something which I think is suitable

Now I've found somebody, I just have to persuade the parents

And is this a reasonable price for a loan. All tack/rugs/feed (for summer) inc.
£15 a week, plus half shoes and wormer when they're done??

I know I should't get my hopes up, but I'm really quite excited!!

Yeah thats probably the right price although when I had my old share horse I paid all shoeing & competing everything else paid for by other lady

Was it from any of those ads yesterday??

I have the chance to go to shows, but no jumping on the mare as apparently she's petrified of it.

I've spoken to my Mum and she is seriously considering it so fingers crossed!!
Will keep updates, though not too much as I don't want to jinx it!!

Another one with fingers crossed for you

Know what you mean about an oldder horse riding much younger - Ellie is the same. Whe I went to try her I thought she was about 15.
Got a shock to discover she was 27

and still competes at the local RC shows. Came away with a rosette from the last one too

ETS Not ridden by me I hasten to add

I think £15 a week sounds good. £15 probably wouldn't get an hours worth of riding at a riding school and it sounds like there's lots of opportunity to ride more than one horse.
Good luck, hope everything goes well for you!

Sounds like a great opportunity for you and I would definately say the price is reasonable

Fingers crossed for you
