Tonight I am celebrating my own small victory. Today we managed our first uneventful hack :D My clever boy stood nicely for gates, trotted nicely without thinking it was time for a gallop, didn't spook or have a tantrum. Hacking on our own too!

I actually enjoyed myself for once. I realise it probably seems odd to be so pleased over something so basic, but I am over the moon :) Finally feel we're making progress.

So, who else has had a small victory they'd like to share?

On Friday I rode my new lad and he showed a little bit of self carriage, mouthed the bit, and importantly I stayed on. Tiny baby step, but I was and am ecstatic! Long road, but it was the first time I've really enjoyed owning him so far! I don't think the size of the victory matters, more that it happens at all ;)

We shall all have an imaginary champagne. Which will go nicely with the imaginary rosettes lad and I have won for dressage and jumping in imaginary competitions, an indulgence I have allowed myself in idle moments since Friday!
