I have a KWPN mare who throws HUGE foals, she stands at 16.1 and has never been put to anything bigger than 16.2, however everything she has produced so far has/will mature to over 17HH.
She is a stockier type of warmblood and slightly long in the back so looking for a stallion available in the UK with good confirmation that will hopefully produce a smaller, more compact foal. I don't really want anything bigger than the mare at mature height.
Any stallion suggestions?
TIA 😁🐴

some of the german riding ponies are a decent size for a pony and a lot have horse sized ancestry so one of them may be worth looking at. the problem you have is that the mare could have big ancestors and if she throws big foals naturally there will not be a lot you can do about it. there are also a couple of arabs and anglo arabs in germany that are with the warmblood registries or likoto who is a tb but has thrown some very classy warmbloods so may give a bit of refinement

Leamside Equestrian stand three international dressage ponies - Caesar 171, Danger 36 and LE Chiffre. They also have a graded son of Caesar who is showjumping successfully.

They've crossed onto bigger mares a few times so can give you an idea of what you might get. They also stand a graded Knabstrupper stallion, Homegaards Bastian that is competing successfully at Advanced Medium. Asti is about 15.2hh so not huge.

I really like Balou Star. He is a super compact stallion, only 160 cm. He has a fantastic jump. His sire is
Balou du Rouet and the dam sire is Quick Star.
