Any recommendations without breaking the bank? Want some brown boots and gaiters, as my long boots are poorly and need to be repaired, so i want a back up for competing in
I use the English Gaiter Company gaiters with Tesco jodhpur boots. The Tesco boots have lasted longer than any others I've had (including Ariat, Mountain Horse, etc.) and the EGC gaiters are very smart and easy to wear. The gaiters are not very hard wearing though and I send mine back to them maybe once every couple of years for mending (which they are very good about, get them back to me very quickly). They don't get really soft, though, so I wouldn't get a pair that feel too tight because they won't ease off all that much.
I have a pair of Ariat Crowne Pro chaps, really nice (after they're broken in!
)
I wear them with Mountain Horse Stirling jodhpur boots, but mine are in black, so fine to mix and match brands and still get a colour match. I guess with brown you'd need to be a bit more careful to get a similar shade of brown if not buying both from same range?
I love the Ariat Bromont Tall boots, I confess that I have them in brown and black..... What's your price range, I have found some brown Ariat Bromonts for 164.99 on this site but I have never ordered from them so don't know how good they are. http://www.millbryhill.co.uk/clothing-fo...ather-20295.htm
Got the TredStep Pro Gaiter, very comfy and very smart. Not the cheapest though at £85 but a brilliant fit and are wearing very well, I use them every day!
I would go for Treadstep gaiters, my pair are still kicking about in the boot of my car and in tact!
And then Ariat boots, everything else is uncomfy in comparison!!
Right, blonde question I expect but... how do you find a store locater or list of stores on Millbry Hill? I think there may be one near me but didn't realise they were any good

It's a great way to buy them, I bought mine in one of their sales and saved quite a lot of money.
Ariat boots and Ariat close contact chaps. I've got them in black, oiled chocolate and waxed chocolate!!
I get the chaps off e-bay. Once you know your size they can often be got cheaper on there. I've never paid more than about £65 for brand new ones including postage (RRP is about £99).
I bought some Ariat Heritage boots last week for £50 and the Close Contact chaps to go with them (unfortunately they weren't reduced!!) and they are very smart
Mine are black but I was very tempted to buy brown as it was a lovely colour
Chaps I agree daisycrazy, but then I cant get any make to last more than 6 months, boots I have found if i look after them, ie wear them with zips done up, then they really do last!!
Tredstep for definite- both boots and gaiters.
Long lasting, comfortable and really smart looking, and good quality so you don't have to replace them. Have seen a new gaiter they have out which looks like leather but isn't and is kinda stretchy... on the Christmas list for everyday use!
