I am doing some research for work currently and need to compile a short list of Indoor Arenas, they need to have a very good surface and excellent lighting and be located in and around the Midlands preferably.
It needs to be available for private hire for a full day.
Any ideas???

Well yes, Addington and Solihull... but very expensive and dificult to hire!
You could include, Hartpury, The College, are they technically in the Midlands?

We have used Unicorn before and it's perfect but just wanted somewhere a bit closer to Walsall / Staffordshire (well me so i don't have to travel Bud so far!!!)

Will look at distances to others.....

Did think of Solihull but with a retailer based there it's not viable unfortunately.... will look at Hartbury but won't the students use it?
Really needs to be quite private....

last time i went to H of H the surface was quite lumpy, ie undulating that was a dressage comp and was while ago..... never been to South View and always wanted to might add to list thanks!

yes they are having a new big indoor up there, and new cafe making it into a real big top competition place which will be good - but i don't know the time frames involved don't think it will be in time for this project but look forward to competing there in the future!!

Yes it's 15 mins down road and i've basically grown up there competed there on ponies and actually jumping there on Sunday! I will put it on the list but local busy bodies might not be able to keep noses out

We're intrigued now about what you're planning to do !
We hired Unicorn Centre to school some western horses and it was quite a good job it's private as the trainer was persuading one youngster that keeps planting himself to keep going....nothing cruel or nasty just lots of galloping up and down while the other horses looked on in a 'not bothered, but quite pleased it's not me having to do all that work' kind of way!
Are there not any dressage queens with plush facilities near you that might be persuaded to hire the arena and keep out of the way for the afternoon?

We are just doing some product research work and really don't want others seeing what we're doing and stealing our ideas!!!!

or gossiping about it really!
i loved the Unicorn it was fab - it took couple hours in our lorry to get there though but it is so cheap in comparison to other arenas.
The dressage queen idea is good - i just have to rack brains who has a good enough indoor and will let us hire it and just let us get on with it.......
