This morning I noticed when picking his feet out that the frog smells quite a bit and is very soft and deep cracks. I believe it to be thrush.

Having never encountered this before I hibi scrubbed the area very well opened the fissures and cleaned as best I could with hibi in trhere too, and then purple sprayed the area and into the fissures.

Is this sufficient treatment for thrush or is there anything else I should be doing, He's not in pain as he stood quietly while a messed around with it and he is not lame on it either.
any thoughts appreciated.

Thank you for this link.

I feel guilty he's got it and that I did not spot it sooner. and I can't think why he has got it. either.

he is shod every 5 weeks, his field is not muddy, he is stabled at night, his hooves are coated every morning in effol gel including the frog), I remove all wet from his stable every morning and he is on shavings, there is no rubbermatting so when he is not stood on the bed he is on concrete. His feet are picked out every evening and I pick them out again every morning before turn out.

Everything this artical says I should do is already being done as part of a regular routine and has been since I had him (3 months)

AARRRGGHH!

Maybe I should add regular cleaning with hibi scrub every morning to the routing to keep it at bay (once we get over this bout)

Thank you again

i dont know if i would over-hibiscrub as it may wash away naturalness. I'm not sure about hooves and frogs but too much washing of legs and other bits can make them more suceptible to mud fever/rainscold etc if natural oils etc are washed away.
Would talk to your farrier. Wouldn't worry unless it starts to happen a lot or won't go away though.
