smelly girths...

I have trouble when washing my girths. I cant put them in washing machine, so use soap flakes, hot water and a scrubbing brush, gets rid of most of sweat, but they still smell horrid!

tie the buckles each end with elastic bands and put in 2 old pillowcases , tie the top and wash - that stops it from banging machine

i got a buckle cover with a thorowgood girth that you pop over the buckles to stop it knackering the machine. very handy

Mine go in the washing machine aswell, i put old socks over the buckles and put it into 2 pillowcases, brings the girth up really well!! I do the same with headcollars, leadropes etc.

do it when they are out!!!! my gran goes to france on her boat every weekend mostly and i do all horsey washing then she will never know lol

I just put thick walking socks over the buckles, secure with elastic bands, no damage done so far!

Just stick socks or buckle guards over the ends and put it in the washing machine. I've got two headcollars and leadropes in a pillowcase clanking round the machine at the moment. They come up a treat.
