We have three ponies kept together, eating the same hay, sharing a mineral lick, drinking the same water, no hard food. One of them has recently started doing poos that smell much more strongly than those of the other two ponies. They look normal, its just the smell that has changed and it’s strong enough to be unpleasant. Nothing else has changed in the way they are kept. Would this worry you?

Can you see how much each pony is drinking? Have the poos changed consistency it may be dehydration. I would keep an eye is you can on how has what as herd arrangements can shift and can lead to one being bullied away from water etc.

Thanks for the reply!
I see her drink regularly (lucky me can see them from the kitchen window!!) and she is still definately boss mare. Also the poo has a good consistency, moist and well formed - just very strong smelling.
She has quite a big tummy that, to me, seems rather tight and odd shaped to be just fat (though everyone else thinks she is just fat:))so I do worry a bit about her digestion. This change is just one more thing to make me worry!
