Smelly Riding Hat

Hi all

Does anyone have any tips on how to stop your riding hat smelling?

Odd question I know, but particulary after fast long rides esp in the summer it does smell quite a bit - I can easily take the hat cover off and put that in the washing machine, but obv I wouldn't do that to the hat itself - I know we all don't mind a bit of horsey smell but I think it would be nice to eliminate or reduce some of it - it seems to be the inside of the hat too?

U can get a hat deoderising spray for about £5. It fab. X

oooh thanks for that - I guess theyre safe to use inside the hat? ie I wouldn't want to weaken it?

I gather a pantyliner soaks up sweat and cuts out smell. Be sure it doesn't stick to your head when you take your hat off.....not a good look

It is specifically for deoderising hats so assume it ok. I use it on my body protector too! X
