I am getting really fed up with the lack of smileys, bold, under line, italics, etc. on this forum and occasionally it has led to serious misunderstandings. Is there a site which explains the code so I can insert as required? I already know a few (a very few!) so it seems they would work but I need more!

Looking at the vBulletin site, it seems that these are switched off on HHO for some reason…Obsolete software?

(For those who my nagging is starting to annoy, do a Google on "They did burn Cathage, didn't they?". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Punic_War It's under Background, second paragraph).

I can do bold and underlined etc. But it's bloomin tedious putting the codes in..

to bold, underline or italisice you put the codes

[insert b, u or I in these brackets] followed by word then [/ insert b, u or I after the slash]

It's much easier than that!

if you're typing and you hit CtrlB it will insert the code and leave the cursor ready to start typing. CtrlU does the same for underline. CtrlI is italics and I'll have to play with it to find more :)

Or just go to your settings & change them at the bottom, simples :)

The default setting is 'basic' editor, you need to change this to Standard editor.

To do this, go to your settings, then into general settings, scroll to near the bottom & change to std editor - and save the changes.

If you do a 'quick' reply to a post, then you wont have access to the full functions, however if you click on 'go advanced' to reply - bobs your aunties uncle & you WILL have all you want from bold, italics, underlined, larger font, coloured font etc - and a whole battery of smilies :biggrin3: as well as much more :)

I hope this public message assists some out there :)

Yeehah - I knew there was a way to do this but couldn't for the life of me remember how :) Thank you.

Yippee! What a clever lot you are! Off to change my settings!

Now, if there was only a way to change hunt-and-peck two fingered typing into using all fingers and thumbs perhaps I wouldn't spend half my time re-editing my posts.<sigh>

On my mobile, I have nothing - probably why some posters get the hump with me because my comments don't come across as they were intended! But if I click "Full Site" they're available. I don't like the full site on my mobile though so other posters will have to get over it (insert laughing & winking 'smilies')
