I'm looking at showing my exp2p this season in RoR classes.
He's got a splint from when he raced which I understand isn't frowned apon as these were horses in a situation where splints were likely.
BUT my boy smiles and gnashes his teeth when excited/bored/stressed... is this going to keep us down the bottom rankings?
any advice would be very much apreciated

Hi. Have you asked on Horsegossip? That's very much a showing orientated forum and you'll probably get a good response from there. Sorry, I've no real idea but I suspect it won't be looked on favourably, as any discipline ideally wants to see a horse without tension.

Reg almost always bares his teeth when he's on the move. It's just what he does- as he does it sans rider/ tack, we've just taken it to be part of 'him'. He's never been marked down for it in dressage, and did pretty well at his first RoR show last year (it was a huge atmosphere which did blow his brains by the end, which cost him a top placing) and he came 6th overall (2nd after the initial go-round, and the ride judge placed him 1st- flattening everyone in sight and refusing to keep more than one foot on the ground at any time doesn't aid the conformation section though it turns out...).

Short answer: if he's well mannered and nicely schooled, then no in our experience.
