Last time i reclipped his lordship, the clippers started to smoke after id oiled them. The smoke didnt smell and stopped after a few seconds.
Bearing in mind Im a bit clueless on the clipping front. Is this oil evaporating? Tension too tight or the clippers about to blow up!
Dont want to do last clip on him when weather picks up a bit for them to do a stripe and die!
Oh, they are a year old and done 5 full clips(2 hairy ones, rest re-clips)

I'd stop using them and pay someone to clip your horse while you have your current pair serviced and get someone (an expert) to look at your clippers and set the tension and make you listen to how they are running (how fast etc) so you get used to what they should sound like and how much/often to oil your blades.

I would think they were VERY hot from wrong tension. Did the blades feel hot? If the blades are blunt there is a tendency to keep tightening them to make them cut but it is not a good idea for the horse
