My horse is currently in a loose ring snaffle, but I don't like them and worry about them pincing, so am going to get her an eggbutt snaffle.
Could someone just help me clear up what the difference in harshness is of a bog-standard eggbutt and a d-ring eggbutt? Also what are the benefits of a copper or sweet iron mouth piece?

From what I understand a D-ring snaffle is less likely to be pulled through the horses mouth though is not really any stronger/weaker than an eggbutt snaffle (there's no poll pressure as neither reins or cheeks are fixed and obviously no curb pressure etc)
Copper/sweet iron mouth peices encourage salvation.
Though tbh, if your loose ring is correctly fitted and hasn't pinched before, and your horse is happy, why change? Unless your horse dislikes the instability of the loose ring, though some prefer it...

Does she go well in it? Are there any signs that it is pinching?

Unless she is uncomfortable i would leave it TBH.
Could always get bit rings?

Not sure what the difference are between the D and thenormal ring but they will offer less "play" than a loose ring. So if your horse is likley to fix on the bit then i would leave the loose ring. The copper mouth pieces normally make a horse salivate more so increasing how moist his mouth is.

I agree with the above posts. If you are concerned about pinching, why not put a pair of rubber biscuits on! Cheap and effective, without having to purchase and try different bits

i posted a while ago about having a bit of brake faliure on my 3yo. He was in an eggbut snaffle and he didn't seem to settle hes now in my mares loosering snaffle with a french link and is perfect, we have no arguments about turning or stopping and he seems comfortable in his mouth so i would be another one suggesting bit rubbers if your worried bout pinching
