I had the vet out last week for Nas's annual vacc and teeth and he commented on the amount of snot. as being chronic, he wants to do a scope to get to the cause of the issue. but my last vet was happy for him to be on secreta pro. which i put nas on periodically.
New vet things this is ok but just masks the issue. so in the mean time i have put him back onto shavings. and although he no longer has a gunky nose when i come out in the morning. when he puts his head down to eat, he starts to get a trickle. the first few days after the bed change it was pouring out, and now it just a bit out of either nostril.
we still have straw for the ponies which i am changing over soon. so wonder if he's that allergic to straw it could still be affecting him.
i also wonder if we go down the route of scoping etc. the vet will just come back with yeah its an allergy give him secreta pro or similar.
does anyone else use a respiratory supplement daily? oh and vet also said lungs etc are clear. :-s
