snotty nose and runny eyes?

what could this be? My young mare started of coughing, then developed a 'gooey' eye and now has a snotty nose!!! My other mare is showing signs of 'gooey' eyes...what could it be???

Try strangles?
Get the vet and don't panic.

Mine has just had a virus and had snotty nose bt no runny eyes, may just be another different type of virus, there are loads. I would get the vet just to be sure though.

Virus arent that bad, they come and go in a matter of weeks but it is worth getting a vet to check. Red has just got over one! Once they have got over one it makes them immune to that virus, so a good thing if its going around!

It really is a funny time of year at the mo - I wouldnt worry too much, but maybe the vet will give you some ventawhatsit!

Dont think that it is trangles, unless the mares neck feels like it has apples growing instead of glands...
