For the last week my mare has had a slight noise when she breathed in heavily. Like she had a bit of mucus in her throat. She occasionally coughs also. Last Sunday she sneezed and a huge amount of snot came out of her nose. I haven't seen anything except a tiny bit of snot when she is sweaty. Should I be concerned?

If your mare is at home then just let nature take its course .Monitor her temp and if it goes seriously up ,get vet. If you are in a yard ,you have an obligation to your friends to ensure it isnt strangles so get a test done . When Bob the nota cob got snotty my fellow liveries chipped in for the cost of the test ,bless them.

Mines snotty with the pollen, as above, check temperature if normal not a problem. I called vet this time last year, I took pics of the snot (nice) they said monitor temp and call if changes, it didn't, same this year.
