Hi, my horse has a snotty nose nearside and has been like it for a week.

He's not had a temperature and he's eating, drinking and behaving absolutely normally and doesn't appear to be in any discomfort.

The snot is quite thick and yellow in colour and is quite sticky. It also smells a little bit.

Please could anyone suggest my next steps I should take?

Thank you

If it was my horse I would be phoning the vet for a telephone consultation, then allow them to decide whether to come out or not.

Could be something or nothing, but would keep the horse isolated until you have spoken to a vet.

Hi, I just wanted to let the very kind people that responded to my message the update.
I spoke with my vets this morning and they think he may have sinusitis and have prescribed a 5 day course of trimediazine which will hopefully clear it up.
Thank you again for your help
