Pretty and great if you can have a snow day without having to worry about getting anywhere.
But as I live in hilly Wales and have my horse on livery 20 minutes away, I think it's a pain in the arse! When it snowed in Feb I walked two hours to the yard and then back gain, though I did get some lovely pics
got stuck in stevenage in it last night and really struggled to get home this morning BUT it was very pretty. other really bad point is obviously trying to get to the yard and horses had to stay in today
Love it, but crashed my car on black ice in the snow on Thursday and wrapped it round a lamp post, so got to wait for insurance to sort a cheque then go car shopping. Not the weather to be without a car!
Personally I quite like a bit of snow, but it does bring out the prats like the bloke who stopped on a nasty bend in the road, and whilst I plucked up the courage to go past (couldn't see what was coming round the bend and people usually hare round like a lunatic on the wrong side of the road as it is) he proceeded to get out, go to the back of his car and get his CAMERA out of the boot (yes the snow on the trees did look nice but...
!)
Had wound down the window to ask if he needed a push (thought he'd broken down) so he got a few choice words as 50 yards further on the road was straight!
Am lucky as ponies are at bottom of garden, don't envy those of you with miles to drive.
But then I have so far managed t avoid the idiots like the one told of above ^^
Horses seem to love it but I don't like the frozen pipes and having to break the water in the trough with a brick. Having said that the horses can't have been thirsty yesterday or they would have broken the ice themselves as they usually do
I am lucky that I live within walking distance of the yard so can stil get there even if the roads are impassible
Didnt mind it too much till our yard moved last new year as old yard was easier to get to and nearer. Then with the snow in february we were stuck not being able to get the horses out of their stables at all for nearly 2weeks the ice was so bad (atleast a inch thick all over).
Couldnt even get up their yesterday and dont know if will manage it today. So yeh i hate the stuff now! Was also meant to be going hunting for the first time today but now cant.
Don't like it, I can't get to my yard, George is looked after but I hate not being able to get there and I am supposed to be going to a jumping show tomorrow and doesn't look like I will be able to.
Well the horses don't seem to mind it - and if I can get the surface cleared of snow I'd be able to ride - so that's not much of an issue either - The frozen pipes are a downer, lugging buckets of water back and forth across an icey yard isn't fun - but then again - driving wind and rain like we've had recently is a nightmare - I think I'd prefer the current weather!
