We had a bit of snow overnight here. My horse lives out year round in a little herd, so we rarely see any excitement, just 5 horses munching. The snow this morning sent them all a bit bonkers, though and I managed to get a few photos (phone camera I'm afraid) and thought I would share.

My boy asked to have his rainsheet off, and immediately did a lot of rolling...

He then tried to persuade everybody else to run around - with limited success. Eventually, he and the foaly had a charge about with a lot of bucking and farting. This pic is him trying to convince his sane and sensible girlfriend to play (she said no thanks ;)). I like how he's demonstrating his baroque hock action!

Eventually, everybody settled down to forage for the especially good grass under the snow (their hay is at the bottom of the hill, but apparently it's more fun to forage).

Lovely... I like how in snow you can tell who's been trespassing in the fields... In your case maybe a wee fox?

Well spotted :D I saw lots of tracks this morning - we do get the occasional deer, but could also be fox, badger or hare. I see lots of hares, but have only seen a fox and a deer once. Of course, I don't know what goes on at night :D
