Hi There,

Has anyone used the snuggy hoods turnout hood? I was wondering how well they fit? As my horse is turned out 24 hours so don't want it slipping and blinding her in the night! Or rubbing her face. Also she is a 16hh TB/WB so any size pointers?

Many Thanks!

Brilliant things - don't move at all, even when my horse has managed to get one of his ears out of the ear pocket (I have the ones with ears and a zip). They are really helpful about sizing - ring them!

you can get them without the head bit - so just goes up the neck. I know two people that use them and both love them, doesn't move.

They don't move but have rubbed out the mane of every horse i've put them on! More than neck covers actually. Have still used them this winter for convenience (palomino coming in to be ridden straight from the field....!) but will go back to neck covers and just the turnout head rather than the full hood next year.

Used them for years, lots of different horses. Never moved as long as you get the right size. No mane rubbing either! :)

Well I've just bought the headless version and can I get the darn thing on? No I flimmin well can't. There's no give or stretch in the material. I got the M/L, which says up to 15.2. Mine's 14.3, so should fit but it doesn't. I even rang them beforehand for advice. Am so cross about wasted money for postage. Grrrr........

They're brilliant :) got two - headless which I'm selling and one with head - both with zips. Fit well - mine are extra large and yes rub a bit but not as much as neck rug.

I have a 16.3 ish he has a full, and it's a little big, but they are great and as long as its clean they will change it for you, my boy has no ears but with a zip. I love it. Also he loves to roll around and it doesn't move :)

Mine has actually saved the mane! Every year neck covers mean the mane is rubbed out, this year I used snuggy hoods - no mane rub at all. Brilliant!

I have one each for the biggest mud monsters and they are great. They are full head and neck ones and I bought XL for a 16.3HH chunky (he'd be so embarassed to hear that) ISH and a 17.2HH solid ISH.

Having read the stories about turnout hoods slipping over eyes, I have tied string very tightly between the eyeholes and they haven't moved at all.

Someone was obviously swinging from one the other day, as one is now minus the bottom piece of velco, but the mask/hood itself has not moved at all.

Neither of the horses have had any mane rubbed and the hoods coverage at the shoulders has actually prevented rug rubs.

I would certainly buy another. Money well spent in my opinion. :)

If you ring them they will tell you where to take a series of measurements of the horse, and from those they can then suggest the best size. When it arrives, try it on a CLEAN horse, and if it isn't right, they will usually change it.
