Snuggy hoods

I bought a snuggy headless hood in January, its like this one:

Will it be too warm to use as a sweet itch hood? I think they are meant to be designed for summer but it feels quite thick. It is navy blue as well which probably doesn't help.

My pony is in one of those (along with the separate 'head' and rug) at the moment

He is in it in all weathers with no problems however this coming week is due to be very hot and if the promised really hot weather comes I will probably swap the rug and hood for a lighter fly rug just keeping him in the mask part

I think he would be ok probably but if they get very hot you do run the risk of them itching more so I'm not taking any risks
