My friend and I rent just over 3 acres (split in to 2 fields by a large hedge or used as one large one via a large gate) between us for 2 horses at £60 each pcm. Both live out 24/7 with a large field shelter and an automatic water trough in each side. We have a storage shed and hay delivered straight into that by the owner. We have no tap water or electric but the owner is fantastic at maintaining fences, harrowing , dividing the land and doing the electric fence for us. I definately would not go smaller but the horses are very happy...we have had bigger fields previously that they haven't done as well on because the owner hasn't done any maintenance.
