So Coombe Park is running this winter

i had heard different romours but was told today that there is definatly bsja at coombe park this winter.

but apparently BSJA at poltimore is far more unlikely! They have reapplied to planning (planning notice pinned up outside!) for change of use and it seems they are far more confident of getting approval. Obviously that won't be immediate but its long term future as a show centre is now very uncertain!

Not heard about Poltimore, has there been a problem? Would be a shame to lose that as a facility, we've lost so many XC places over the years too, and i hear that Oaklands at Alphington is closing, and becoming a park and ride site, that could just be speculation though.

Poltimore will go if they get change of use. Basically Wendy isn't as young as she was and I don't think the daughters want to take full time responsibility for it as they have other jobs which is fair enough. I would guess commercial storage would also be far more profitable for them!

I would be surprised if Oaklands became park and ride to be honest, can't say I have heard any rumours about it, well other than the eternal one that she was going to sell off a sectino of the land for houses but obviously in current economic climate thats unlikely I would have thought!

It was in the paper about Oaklands becoming a park and ride, the horsey section of the western morning news a few weeks ago. It said that the SWPA had to move from their usual venue of Oaklands as it is being turned into a P&R.

But, there's that old adage of don't believe everything you read in the paper....!

if it was in westcountry horses it prob is right then actually! wonder if its whole thing or just the part rumoured to be for sale for ages....
