Went to a show over the weekend, have had a tough time of it over last couple of months couple of nasty falls and a few things in my personal life that have knocked me.

So I entered the 1 ft class, which sounds bad enough untill you hear that I won a colouring set!!!!!! we won the class and I passed the set onto a child who had tried very hard and smiled even when it went wrong!

I should add at this point that I am over 30 and I wore my medal to do the weekly shop much to the horrour of my 12 yr old

well at least you didnt get an easter egg, your prize was far more useful!!

Dont knock it!! If it makes you smile its worth doing!!

I have just gone back to a 14.2 after 10 years of horses!! Came home tonight with the most stupid grin on my face!!

LOL! I did a beginners working hunter recently, and when I didn't get placed I got a bag of sweeties

Im 20! My boyfriend found it extremely funny...

I think the reward for trying is as valid for everyone, regardless of age

It is harder for adults to risk their dignity than it is for children, although perhaps a small drink or a flowers would be better.

Or a large drink better still! Fantastic to get a medal though - I'd be wearing it everywhere.

Well done, congratulations. that took a lot of guts.

Following a nasty accident, I have completely lost my nerve when it comes to jumping and the only horse I trusted to pop over the odd pole, cant jump anymore.

So well done and wear that medal with pride.

My horsie broke a leg last year, never thought I'd ride him again, never mind jump...although I'm back doing both now, my main goal is the 1ft minmus class at my local show...(and I'm 38) I'd love a clear round rosette and/or a colouring set - my kids just want me to fall off!!

Well done you!!

PS I would have worn it shopping also, and perhaps to pick kids up from school!!
