I have always loved hunting, the thrill of it, galloping across field after field following braying hounds and the huntsmasters horn, yes I am a speed freak but I have not hunted on horse back in my adult years!
As a child, I had 2 friends with whom I used to hunt with, we had the biggest blast ever and would spend all day out, coming home head to foot in mud but with exhilerated faces. My pony only had one eye but he was an immense little horse, he used to get up to all sorts of tricks, the worst probably being that he headed straight for a huge puddle one day, after getting a tad sweaty, and stopping bang smack in the middle and lying down in it I was lucky, I managed to walk up over his neck, so didn't get a soaking, finally one of the adults cracked a whip behind him and made him get up, little sod!
Anyway, the reason for my post is that I will be going hunting on horse back this season and I am really really looking forward to it  Of course my childhood friends are no longer living here in the village and don't ride anyway but I am still hoping that I will have as much fun now as I did 24 years ago!!
I will be hunting with either Eggesford hunt or Torrington farmers, depending on which one is closest at the time. We are in the middle of both their territories here, so we get a choice
