My OH came to my 5 yr old's riding lesson yesterday. Yet again she had ANOTHER instructor who tried to make her do scissors this time and knocked her confidence a bit

(all for pushing them a bit but she ended up crying which I think at 5 isn't good

). So he wasn't best amused and said we can start looking for a pony! Yey!

On another note somebody is selling one of my mare's babies and I want him but I've been told no

1 out of 2 ain't bad though!

Poor thing - it's so hard teaching kids - some really don't care and nothing phases them - my god daughter is going to be an excellent rider (she's got her mums amazing seat) but needs her confidence building...some instructors really annoy me!

Horray for OH though! ;-)

Just want to say that not all us instructors are mad, bad or dangerous!! Most of our clients have had the same instructor for five years! the rest have had a total of three over the same period. I cant stand it either when theres no continuity in lessons and why would you get a 5 yr old to do scissors! Round the world is hard enough when you are that small! But hoorah you get to go pony hunting

Sorry I didnt mean to come across as anti-instructor! We just seem to have had a bad run of them at the moment! My daughter has had 5 different instructors over a 2 month period and only 1 of them has been 'child friendly'! Up to then she was doing great with the same instructor which is why my OH has finally given in!

I completely understand I would not put up with it either but sadly many people do which is why so many bad riding schools keep going and give the rest of us a bad name!
