I'm moving back to my parents for financial reasons, I've not yet moved back technically but I've already got and started a new job working at a kennels and cattery. And I've also been to visit someone about riding their horse for them, fingers crossed I'll get to ride him on Sunday.

I'm especially excited because he's a fuzzy little 15.2hh 5 year old cob! The two previous horses I rode were 16.2 and 17hh, French Trotter and TB so I'm looking forward to riding something a bit smaller, easier to keep together and easier to do gates from! :P

Urg, a cob  Why do people want to share cobs anyway? vile hairy fat creatures...

Oh god I've been possessed by some kind of daemon  Exorcism, anyone?

Can't beat a cob - enjoy :D

I never used to be a cob fan but recently I was thinking over my experience of cobs and I've never known a bad one. They all have their job and place, from the slower than slow, perfect for total beginners cob at a riding school to the slightly insane but great jumper cob at college.

It's going to be a bit strange being on something so close to the ground [at least compared to what I'm used to!] but hopefully he'll be good! The people than own him have him at their yard in their garden essentially, with a school too, so it should be perfect!

Curiously enough I have come relatively lately to Cobism, well, cobs of the hairy traditional type anyway. We have always had section Ds, as well as my beloved warmbloods, but I have taken a shine recently to a 15h 'ornery' piebald chap who I wouldn't have looked at twice in my youth, but someone has asked me to appraise him and I am quite entranced by his fab floating action and his quirky snake face pulling, which when he isn't doing it, takes on quite an angelic ponyfied charm. Someone help me, I've come over very peculiar! :D

Yes, this one I went to see was so cute and fuzzy! Couldn't help loving his face. I didn't see the rest of him apart from his legs as he was tucked up in his rug as it was below freezing at the time!

Oh you can. Their fat makes a really satisfying noise when you thwack em!!

Good point - you can see me beating mine here...

(I have a photo for every occasion :D)

I've organised to go and ride him on Friday, but I've totally forgotten what to expect with a cob type! He's going to feel tiny, I'll be riding with the owners daughter who has a 17.3hh showjumper!
