I currently keep my horse on livery, the yard is brill but the atmosphere is a little strained at times. So I've found some land for sale, about the same distance from my house as the yard is. It's a canal side location with a mooring. Also has 2 new stables a workshop a nice little yard area & just over 2 acres. It is a beautiful secluded location, although it does have houses near by. It has a footpath running through but it is fenced off with metal turnstile at the end. I have a horse I may have to retire soon due to Ringbone, so can now maybe get another to ride. As my cob will make a good companion. I know it's not a great lot of land but I'm sure I can manage it with 2. There is land around it so maybe available to rent if I ask around. Would you go for it? The house opposite the the land also has horses so possible someone to ride out with.

Yes :D

We were considering something very similar (slightly more land, etc.), but didnt go for it in the end as there was another parcel of land we were very keen on. Blasted local farmer bought up the lot and we missed out on the small piece. They tell me everything happens for a reason!

Good luck :D. I hope that it comes off for you :D

Hoping to view at the weekend, even more excited now. We had a little drive over and it felt right, wish I knew how to post a link so you can see it. Fingers crossed we get it. OIRO £80,000 so is a good price too. The stables are not very old. I want to buy it now!!

Don't be so sure! There are lots of horses on here who lead full, active lives with ringbone (mine is one). You just need to be patient and wait for the treatments to take effect.

Mine hacks for hours, schools, does a bit of dressage, will hopefully go hunting again this year. I just have to be careful with the ground and tailor the work I do to how he feels each day. It's taken me ages to find the best way to manage him but now I have, he's looking and feeling great. He does more work than a lot of "sound" horses I know and it seems the more work he does, the better he gets :)

Thank you chestnut cob. I will be sending you a very long PM soon :-) I'm never very optimistic bad luck seems to follow me around just lately. I know it's early days with regards to his treatment but he doesn't seem to cope very well with hacking. And that's what I love to do I'm a little worried.
