Apologise in advance for the rant but when people think they know your horse better than you do it makes me so angry! Being told I am cruel for riding my horse in two nosebands (grackle/kineton, which do not interfere with each other) and that the horse can't be happy.

For one he is 17.2hh ISH, if his tack hurt or he wasn't happy in it he would bloody well let me know, and I'm sure I would be sitting on the floor looking up at him eventually! And if people think he should be in only one of the two nosebands then they can try and ride him in just the one.. They would end up over the hill and far away never to be seen again, until he decides it's time to go home haha..

I agree that with the American Gag bit he is in as well it can be a severe combination to use, in the wrong hands. I have very soft hands and having to pull harder or constantly half halt to get some sort of reaction out of the horse must be worse than having to sit down in the saddle and put a small amount of pressure on. He goes and carries himself as light as a feather in this so I don't see the problem.

It's not just this, I see in many horsey groups that people always think they know best about what you should be doing, reguardless of whether they have any idea about the situation! Has anyone else noticed this?

Rant over!
