So as some of you know I've been having issues with my boy, couple of bad falls and basically lost all confidence. Quite rightly alot of people commented check back, teeth, saddle etc. And I replied with confidence all that has been done. The chap I bought him off has been riding him and says he's a different horse to the one he sold and is obviously trying to tell us something. So my very knowledgeable yo came n had a look at him and showed me that he has alot of sore points on his back and withers most likely from a poorly fitted saddle. So frustrating that ive spent my hard earned money on so called professional saddle fitter, physios etc n they can't even do their job right. Yo has given him 2 massage sessions n fitted him for a new saddle so hopefully we start to see an improvement
But ultimately my confidence in this horse has been ruined n I jst can't get out of my head n know I'll never be able to ride him again. Absolutely gutted 😢

Been there, done it & got the tshirt.
Go easy on yourself. Take time & get someone onboard to help You never know, you might be back before you know it. Getting the "worst case scenarios" out of your head can be hard, but I found mitigating the risk, & having a friend beside me was a fantastic way to get them gone.

It’s disheartening when trusted professionals get it wrong, isn’t it? I would feel pleased that now you have finally located the problem and are getting it dealt with it you should feel more confident about getting back on one day soon

Just to say well done for listening to your horse and persevering.

So many people would have just thrown the horse on the horse junk heap.

At least you know there was a very good reason for the behaviour so hopefully his future is better, whatever you decide.
