Finally the snow has gone and the ground is just about alright to turn my kids out for the whole day, first time in about two weeks bless them, went a little bit crazy but was lovely to see them have a good stretch and a roll!!!

Turned my two out this lunchtime, first time for 3 weeks! Was dreading what they might do. In the event I took their rugs off, both unclipped and let 'em go. Masses of rolling in the mud, one of them is moulting like mad. I could fill a duvet with his coat.

They did airs above the ground on the flatest part of the paddock, the rest is on a quite a steep slope, had a whizz round and settled to eat.

Usually they are out 7am 'til dark. Hopefully back to normal from now on.

We are lucky as we have been able to turn out every day. Unfortunately one of the older retired horses came in lame last night and he has done a tendon. However he isn't one to be stupid out in the field so I guess it was just sheer bad luck. He will be scanned in 10 days time to see how much damage he has done.

We have been very lucky that Toto has been out every day (except for 2 days, when the yard was too icy) but haven't been able to ride since the 2nd Jan

We have managed to turn out for the last week because of the snow...now it is melting the yard is underwater and I presume that the fields will be once our snow melts, which means no turn out
