So Glad I Left

Flamin heck has this woman never heard of Madeline McCann???

We all know what happened when her parents thought a small child would be alright alone "just for a while".

Should have been a lesson to everyone, if you choose to have children you have to take responsibility for them and sometimes doing that means you can't do stuff that you used to do when you didn't have children. If you don't want to make certain sacrifices (such as arranging babysitters when you want to do activities that don't include your children) then you shouldn't have had children in the first place.

Sorry I don't agree at all. a 4 yo should be perfectly capable of sitting in a car for 5-10 minutes while mum nips out to take in horse. It's probably safer and better for the kid than being dragged up to the field. The kid was probably just chucking a hissy fit.

It just wouldn't be practical to organise a sitter or child care for a simple task like bringing in. I could see your point if mum was schooling for an hour or off out for a hack. Sound like mum is busy doing her best.

Can't believe someone would leave their child unattended, be it locked in a car or not!

Who's to say they won't unlock the car doors and get out? Would you leave a 4 year old at home with the doors locked while you nipped to the shops? I certainly wouldn't. My daughter is 10 and I don't leave her alone on the yard ever. As much as she thinks she's old enough to look after herself, she's not.
A 4 year old is still a baby, they don't understand danger properly. Like someone has already said, there are far too many dangers on a livery yard and I don't think it's fair to take your children with you and expect the other liveries to look after them. They are there for their own leisure, not to act as babysitters when it suits. I'd be mad if someone kept intruding on my time with my horse just so they can get on and do what they want to do!

If they don't have someone they can leave their children with, they should pay someone to do it.

its hard with kids if horse to be attended too and you cant get someone to watch them and have to bring with you cant take into field with you..well I would ask for help from other livery either to be kind enough to bring horse in or look after child with a big PLEASE and THANK YOU..I knew a girl many years ago left her child in push buggy outside whilst she did everything including riding never asked for help still being a mum you do watch out for the kids and y/o should have big say in this in case anything goes wrong..
