Sorry to bore you all with this but its a huge deal for me!
I havent ridden my mare for just over 4 weeks for a few reasons being she lives out 24/7 in a field that is where i would normally ride her but its like a swomp, so have to hack out, but i would normally hack with my sister on her horse, she stopped riding last month because she is pregnant, so have had nobody to ride out with! Sister has also been quite ill with the pregnancy so hasnt had much time to help me out with seeing how she would be on her own on a hck.
Sister said she would walk out with me for the first time i took her out as i have had her since may and never needed to ride out on my own so didnt know how she would go, also before i had her she was at an equestrain centre and only went out as a big group.
Well i got on and she was a little skippy and had her back arched ( as she is a little cold backed ) set off she was a little jumpy at things but after about 3 minutes she settled right into it. My sister may as well not have been there as we left her behind...lol
We only were out for 20 minutes but it was a start and it gave me the confidence to go out on my own with her, she only started to get silly again on the home stretch and started jogging down the hill ( where she tripped up and nearly went down, i had to pull her up ) and wouldnt stop at juctions (luckily it was quiet) but i can work on that now i know she isnt gonna turn into a loon out on her own.
Sorry to bore you but i am just so happy.
