No point to this post other than that I am so, so, so happy to be riding again now that riding schools have reopened!!

I’m never going to be a good rider and would happily settle for semi competent novice, but it is such an important part of my life - I love horses and riding so much! I’ve been feeling too sad to even look on here during the lockdown. I’ve absolutely loved being back in the saddle

It’s been such a tough time for the yard owner having to cope through the winter with no staff and the uncertainty of it all, delighted that they have made it through.

This is so great! There's nothing worse than being deprived through lockdown. Lockdown one was horrendous for me I didn't so much as sniff a horse. Hope you've lots more fun rides in the near future :)

Yes the first lockdown was rubbish as well! I would have taken a part loan from the school if I could this time round (big step for me) but all their suitable horses were out. My husband is finally onside with how important horses are to my mental health and would have supported it. I am autistic and have ongoing battles with depression and anxiety.
I worked on fitness while I was unable to ride so my riding/confidence hasn’t deteriorated too much thankfully. First ride out tomorrow :) and the spring and summer ahead! So excited, I’m like a little kid.

That's brilliant on the fitness, I did nothing despite telling myself I would. I'm still absolutely puffed from tacking up (share horsey is pleasantly plump and likes to breathe out) ?. Enjoy your ride tomorrow! Report back!

Cracking little hack in the spring sunshine today with my daughter who is 10 and was just starting to canter out on hacks before the last lockdown. She did really well on the speedy little pony she was riding. Lovely countryside, foals, sunshine, lots of gentle canters and good company. ❤️
