Especially if you work all day.

Mine just get hay in the field and someone brings them in for me. If its really bad they go out for 2/4 hours get bored then come in and stuff themselves with lots of hay.

Nothing different, if I have to re-plough tracks to the paddocks then it takes longer. Anything I normally do with a wheelbarrow gets done with a sled, either behind me, the quad, or a pony.

Ours stay in and I just chuck my girl out in the school for a couple of hours whilst I muck out, sort out the others, and am generally just pootling about the yard

I chuck them out in it with haylage to eat and bring them in when they look too miserable. I love riding in it - I can have a gallop up the lanes!

God knows how we'll get to new yard as you have to go through country un-gritted roads with hills. even with the frost this week its been bad.

They've always stayed in during heavy snow before so probably will this year too although its always nice to see them have a bit of a frolic in the snow, very festive!!

flick the 4x4 switch and just go about as normal...
horse gets a bit more hay but is fed ad lib anyway...
and i go for nice rides in it

The only difference in my day is that I don't ride my motorbike to the yard lol!!!!

Spend all day with big grin on face watching horses enjoying themselves - they always go a bit bonkers in the snow!!!

I couldnt get to mine earlier this yr when it snowed heavy...due to other plonkers on road blocking it...had nasty hills to go up and un treated country road too...not nice either...got to 1st hill had to get out and help push the stuck cars up a hill....although the numpty drivers didnt have a clue how to drive in snow...i ended up flat on my back...not good for a bad back anyway...got that hill cleared wacked our heap up it...got to next hill...same dinny drivers in way again...all 4x4s were using verge's - lucky buggers...
so in all...took over an hour to try to get there....didnt make it or work...after falling on back that hurt alot!
So this year if it's heavy enough my car will not be going anywhere as its got low sports suspension on it and wont be any good plus i dont want any numpty to crash it or me to put it in ditch or something silly....instead I'll done the muckers and off I go.....

Its not an "if" snow'll happen up here. It usually makes an appearance 3 or 4 times at least!

I dont do anything different. Mine live out 24/7. They are rugged up anyway and fed. All I would do is give them more hay. Have to spend ages getting the water trough unfrozen though! And also have to spread salt/grit around the yard where it can get very icey.

the only time i dont turn out is if it really windy AND snowing, so it stings your face kind of snow, then they stay in, ad lib hay and get equissaged twice a day, and i make sure i ride (the shetland gets loose schooled).

if the snow has settled i turn out with big piles of hay and my livery/friend (who works from home)brings them in after 2/3 hours.im lucky that friend works from home and my mum doesnt work so always someone to bring in after a couple of hours.

I chuck him out as normal as he is grumpy as hell if he stays in. If snow is so bad that he can't get to grass (not allowed to put hay out as they're not used to it so fight over it) I pop back at lunchtime to bring him in or a friend will get him in for me, but he loves to have at least a couple of hours out every day even in terrible weather.

OH carries shovel, but not grit (no space!)

A tip that came from last time is, if you get stuck, use your car mats where you would use sacking (probably just in front of the driven wheels???)

My car is officially useless in snow, RWD, mid engined and low, I know it's not going anywhere, other than in circles...

As per normal. Staying out 24/7 with ab lib forage and a bit of feed

My only concern is the roads, as I only have a little fiesta.

Carry on as normal, except hubby drives instead of me. Might be interesting driving in snow in our new little car
