I posted a week or so ago about my lame ned - lame on hard surface and turning left. So the farrier said he had a bruised sole. No abcess found but I was worrying about lami cos he's a fatty.
So I got the vet out today. She noted his lameness. She doesn't think it's lami but there is a possibility. SHe tested his hooves, flexion test etc. She concluded she needs an X ray / nerve blocks to see what's going on inside his foot.
I am very worried. She mentioned the possibility of navicular, maybe sidebone, but certainly something wrong with that foot. SHe wants to check out the other one too. Her advice was to treat him like he HAS got lami just in case, and then I'v got to take him in next week for tests.
So poor boy is tucked up in a deep bed with soggy hay.
Have I done the right thing? Or should I have left the foot a little longer? It sounds so serious
