now what do I do with the passport? do I have to have it registered to me now? Sorry if I sound dumb. the last time I had a horse, passports weren't around. plus it seems that her last owners didn't have their details put on there, only the stud owner is on there

confuzzled - please help :/

thank you :)

You need to get in touch with the company that the passport is issued by (usually their contact details are in the front or back) and explain you have just purchased the horse and need to change owner's details (name, address, date of purchase etc) into your name. In my experience, this is usually between around £15 to £20.

You have 28 days from purchase to change to owner details - although I don't think it is ever really enforced! Remember to take a complete photocopy before you send it away to the PIO - just in case.
