Well after my successful post about how well D had been doing last week we had a case of 10 steps forward and 1 step back on Saturday.

I rode out with the groom who rode the yard owners horse. We went to walk round the village and every car that came past upset the horse she was riding and she kept reversing into me and D, who bless him just looked confused as he certainly is not bothered by traffic!!

On the way back we decided to go through the fields to the back entrance of the yard and her horse just lost it, rearing up and messing about so D obviously copied. He reared up and the lost his back end as he slipped in the mud (I have no idea how I stayed on!!) I managed to turn him in a circle and get him to stand whilst the groom jumped off mid rear. She lead her horse back whilst I rode along side.

But after all that I was so proud of myself as before I would have jumped off immediately and refused to get back on. :)

I rode him round the village with my friend on Sunday and he was as good as gold so it hasn't affected him although I was obviously a little worried.

If this awful weather stops the groom is going to ride him round the route we did on saturday on his on this week and then I will do it with a quiet horse at the weekend.

But I am still feeling positive about it all thank god.

Tea and cake if you got to here :)

Well sat GM and hope you are still feeling justifiably proud of your achievements. Hope you carry on with D doing so well.

Well done of your horse to keep calm as long as he did, and being able to calm down again after what sounds like a high class stunt trick, and Bravo! to you, for staying on and riding home.

Hope you continue onwards and upwards.

:D

Thank you everyone! I felt like such a fool as mid rear I shouted at the groom "can I get off?! I want to get off" like I needed some sort of permission. Once she shouted "no you can't get off" I was fine. I just needed someone to tell me it was ok and as soon as I calmed D did too. I really do think he is such a sensitive boy who picks up on how you feel so easily. Bless him.

Thanks again everyone for all the support on here, it honestly does help :)

Nearly never done it" my dad used to say:D See how far you've come and you now realise that he really does react to your nervousness.

Well done :D
