.....Oh my god- it was amazing. I am so glad I plucked up the courage and decided to go.

I'm not going to lie- I was nervous, tried not to show it- think I did quite well but inside I was crapping myself. So anyway went over there and groomed, helped tack her up, load her etc. We went to an indoor school a couple of miles down the road.

Now the owner is pregnant which is why she wants this horse schooled and competed as she's just spent a lot of money after sending it to a dressage yard to be trained and only got her back a couple of months ago- she doesn't see the point in seeing all that go to waste and the mare just stand around and do nothing for the next 6 months until she's had the baby. I know I probably shouldn't have done but I'm afraid I did say I wouldn't get on the horse until I'd seen her get on it first, I said she only had to walk and do a bit of trot just so I could see what she was like.

Oh my god she was amazing, drops into an outline straight away and her paces are just out of this world- her extended trot is just ridiculous.

Then it was my turn- I was nervous but I just kept saying to myself 'just get on and DO it, RIDE the bloody horse like it's any other (like I would G)' so I did, at first I could feel I was tense but she was a star and remained really calm etc, then his owner started giving me a mini lesson and she instantly said 'right, you ride this horse so much better when you're thinking/concentrating about something else' so she kept on giving me a lesson and was telling me to when to flex her and how much flex and when to push with which leg etc and she was right, I was concentrating so much on what she was asking me to do I stopped worrying about what the horse was doing/what it might do and I actually started to have fun.

She asked me to ask for a medium trot across the long diagonal, I was really nervous as I saw how elevated it was etc when her owner did it, but I asked and OH MY GOD- I'VE NEVER FELT ANYTHING LIKE IT, IT WAS AMAZING!!!

So yes, she was an absolute star, bearing in mind she's only 6, had a complete stranger on her who was a complete nervous numpty and who must've been on some occasions giving her mixed signels etc i'm sure, but she was just a star and she honestly is one of the most beautiful horses i've ever seen!

She's asked me to go over on Sat if the weather's nice and hack out with me on the mare and her on her mum's horse, lol I was meant to be going to Burnham horse trials but I actually think i'd rather ride her :D But yeh, so it went well and i'm really glad I gave it a go, am going to see how it goes over the next couple of times I ride her as i'm sure the owner is and then if they go well then I think it will be me riding and competing her this summer, yay :D

Lol I would actually have LOVED to have gotten pics last night-they had mirrors in the school and everytime I went around and caught a climpse of myself on the amazing beast I was like 'oh my god- is that actually ME on this animal lol'

If the next couple of rides go ok then I will defo try and take my mum or someone to get some pics :)
